From the North, you Have the Quiet, almost secluded beaches of Mareazul, in Grand Coral, the new development North of Town, that you can still call Playa del Carmen.

This club has a very very good seafood restaurant, chill out lounge music, not too loud not too old, just perfect for you, the choice of beach chairs is excellent, lounge chairs with face guard, or a round sultan like day bed, (you have to order a bottle or enough food to justify about 150 USD charge to score one of this, all other chairs are free with a minimum purchase of about 15 USD per person. Which is not bad if you plan to have a couple of drinks and snacks.
Kool Beach Club
Formerly Playa Tukan, now known as Playa Mamitas has one of the most happening beach Clubs in the North of Playa del Carmen, In the mornings its home to Yoga by the Sea, Arielle Newman´s teacher training seminars and every day classes by the most beautiful ocean views and healing sounds and breeze. At night, it hosts the BPM (Electroninc music Festival) with its summer and winter editions and in November, the Riviera Maya Jazz festival, with world famous artists, coming to play every year. You can find Dany´s sail boats, and a couple hundred meters North, one of the oldest dive shops in Playa, Cyan Ha.
Very service oriented beach club with good music, very comfortable day beds and waiters everywhere, digging wholes to put your umbrella just where you need it, and willing to move it seventeen times if needed, the food is excellent, Sunday morning Buffet is a must, and any dish you try will be delicious, Italian operated club is not the best of the beaches because of the boats tied right in front, but if that does not bother you, it is an excellent choice to spend the day launching.
A local´s favorite, every chair is a day bed, shady until 5 Pm, guaranteed to have a very relaxing beach day, with a good selection of healthy food, and salads and a very generous portions of snacks and finger food. Sunday is grill day all you can eat buffet, for approximately 10 USD you will be wearing your colorful bracelet feeling like an all inclusive guest just that day, helping yourself to their delicious buffet again and again. At night, they have some of the best dj s until the live music starts, every night is a different theme, don’t miss the salsa nights, with free lessons and the local salseros who are religiously present every week bragging and making every beginner dream about getting rid of their 2 left feet.
This is a relatively new club that has a very big stage, it was built to showcase local bands and shows, and it is another must visit during your stay. This place is not for young crowds, more like a baby boomer heaven.
Dance the night away, If you need encouragement form very friendly staff, and you are not embarrassed dancing on a table, this is the beach club for the young and the young at heart, music plays all day long, volleyball, softball, trampoline, and all kind of toys for you to enjoy the beach day, and night.
